3rd Treatment Cycle 2 Day 22

September 17, 2024 Cycle 2 Treatment 3 Chemo/Immunotherapy Day 22

I have been feeling much worse over the last week leading up to treatment 3.  Side effects of some intense fatigue and severe indigestion that has made it difficult to sleep contributing to my fatigue even more.

Another sweet care package arrived from a cherished friend.  It was a welcomed gift to wrap me up in hugs from her and warmth.  Things that help you get through those not so feeling good days.

Yesterday was the beginning of Cycle 2 Immunotherapy/Chemo combo day 22, or my 3rd treatment.  It’s a long day and generally takes about 6-7 hours to complete.  Each time before treatment I have labs that have to be drawn to check my levels and be sure they’re all in safe ranges to receive chemo and also check my tumor marker to see that chemo is working.  This week my tumor marker has dropped for the first time, 50 points! This is so encouraging to see, it means the chemo is working!

Ciara was able to come visit again and I got to hug on her while I was getting treatment.  We got to have a late lunch early dinner in my room together.  Ken brought his laptop and he worked, we’re so thankful that he is able to work remotely and still be able to be alongside me as I go through treatments.

We headed home about 8:30 and got home about 3 hours later.  Our sweet friend met us at home with Kayden as she spent the day with them.  Our friends have been so supportive and we couldn’t do this without their love and support.
