October 18, 2024 Cycle 3 Treatment 5 Day 53
On the 15th I had lab work and follow up with my medical oncologist Dr. An and Kayden had a follow up with her neurologist to go over her EMU study which you can read about here, we were given great news so be sure to go read the update!
Back to Tuesday the 15th, I met with my oncologist to go over resuming my treatments and go over my lab work. My platelets have resumed back to normal levels and my tumor marker dropped a few more digits. All good news, so we’ll resume chemo/immunotherapy treatment beginning Friday as Tuesday was not available any longer. After my follow up we headed to TCH for Kayden’s appointment and then we headed home.
I’m not at the halfway point of treatments. Friday the 18th was treatment day and Ken and I headed out very early as I was scheduled for 8:30 am. We were out the door at 4:30 am and made it to MDA with 30 minutes to spare.
Treatment went easy, and for the first time I fell asleep during treatment. The nice thing about treatment being so early in the morning is that we get home earlier instead of such late hours into the evening. Kayden spent the day with our friends and they arrived just moments before we got home. Hugs and cuddles with Kayden for a little while, she had spent the night with friends because we had to leave so early that morning. So I was missing her, then it was off to bed for a good night of rest. I’m usually very tired from the long day after treatment and I’m out like a light quickly.
Saturday I spent the day at the shoppe. I had a sweet package from our oldest daughter Taylor waiting on me. About 5 years ago I taught her how to crochet, and she now does that and knits. Well my sweet girl crocheted me a mustard yellow blanket and I love it! It’s beautiful! I’ve been covering with it each morning while I sit and read God’s word during my early morning quiet time.
The week coming up is the week we get my treatments schedule back on Tuesdays. So since I just had treatment on Friday, I’ll skip this coming Tuesday and Friday and I’ll begin the last of Cycle 3 on Tuesday the 29th. Then I’ll be back on Tuesday rotations of treatment and back on schedule. Tuesday is easiest because I also have follow ups at the beginning of each cycle with my oncologist and they’re only in clinic on Tuesdays for appointments.
So until then, next update will be sometime next week after my 6th treatment.
