September 24, 2024 Cycle 2 Treatment 4 Chemo/Immunotherapy Day 29
This week is the last treatment of cycle 2. At the end of this cycle I’m at the half way point of my neoadjuvant therapy (pre-op) treatment.
My sweet friend took me to treatment this week so that Ken could stay home and care for Kayden while she wasn’t feeling well. He is usually the one who takes photos and I forgot to snap a treatment 4 photo, so I’m sharing some from the week. A sweet note from a sweet customer and bible verse reminder, and Ken giving me a pedicure and painting my toes with fresh polish. That was a treat indeed!
Each week that passes I feel worse than the week before, I know this is to be expected. Some days are easier than others. I’m feeling bad by the day after treatment and Saturday evening/Sunday are my better days of feeling like myself and having energy. Treatment went like normal, Ciara was able to visit for a short while too. My platelets were a bit high, but my tumor marker continues to decline which is very encouraging and a continual reminder that chemo is working. This weeks treatment was much earlier today, so we were out of the ATC with time to stop along the was home for a bite to eat. Cava it was, I’m craving fresh flavorful food. Cava hit the spot for me, yummy mediterranean food.
Midweek, my oncologist ordered a fluid infusion to help with the fatigue I’m experiencing. On Thursday Ken, Kayden and I headed to The Woodlands MDA for an infusion of some extra fluids. I’m not so sure they really made a difference for me. I felt better for a few hours but then back to extreme fatigue later that evening.
A week of rest & recovery from chemo/immunotherapy is to follow. I’ll be at my halfway point with Cycle 3 beginning in 2 weeks. I have my halfway point CT scan to see how my tumor is responding if it’s shrunk any and my trial research biopsy at the end of my rest week.
